New Scandal Rocks Polisario: Brahim Ghali Involved in Managing Algerian Fuel Smuggling Network
Sahrawi media have revealed a new scandal involving Polisario Front leader Brahim Ghali, who is implicated in managing a network for smuggling Algerian fuel. According to an investigation published by the “Futuro Sahara” website, Ghali has assigned one of his brothers and a cousin to oversee this operation.
The same site confirms that quantities of fuel are being smuggled to the Algerian city of Tindouf and the Mauritanian city of Zouerat. It further claims that the Polisario Front is selling part of the smuggled fuel to the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), which operates in areas east of the sand wall erected by the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces.
According to the same source, the Algerian regime provides approximately 340 tons of fuel monthly to the Polisario Front. Upon discovering this scandal, the youth in Tindouf camps have staged violent protests against the corrupt Polisario leadership.
