Al-Qassam Brigades Announce Casualties and Injuries Among Israeli Soldiers in Gaza

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced on Sunday that several Israeli soldiers were killed and injured in a “complex” operation east of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Al-Qassam Brigades said, “In a complex operation in the Al-Jneina neighborhood near the Abed Al-Rahman Mosque east of Rafah city, our fighters targeted a D9 military bulldozer with a Yassin 105 shell.”

According to the German news agency, they added, “As the rescue force advanced to the location, an armored personnel carrier with several soldiers was targeted with a Yassin 105 shell, causing casualties and injuries.”

The war in the Gaza Strip has entered its twelfth month, following an unprecedented attack launched by Hamas and other Palestinian factions on southern Israel.

Several armed Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip are conducting military operations against the Israeli army, including rocket launching, the use of anti-tank missiles, and the detonation of some locally made explosive devices.

The war has caused widespread destruction and displaced about 90% of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents multiple times, plunging the region into a severe humanitarian crisis.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza reports that more than 41,000 Palestinians have been killed since the war began, with women and children constituting more than half of the casualties. Israel claims it has killed over 17,000 fighters during the conflict.
