Another Disappointment for Morocco’s Beach Soccer Team

The Moroccan national beach soccer team was defeated today, Thursday, in Hurghada, by Mauritania 7-4 in the semifinals of the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations (Egypt 2024).

The Moroccan goals were scored by Idriss Ghanam (2nd minute), Reda Zahraoui (5th and 15th minutes), and Badr Al-Quraishli (17th minute). For Mauritania, the goals were scored by Mohamed Wally Waidoo (5th, 21st, and 31st minutes), Mohamed Diallo (6th minute), Bachir El-Aid (16th minute), Beidati Malick (18th minute), and Ahmedou Bilal (35th minute).

Mauritania will face Senegal in the championship final on Saturday, October 26, while Morocco will play Egypt in the third-place match on the same day.

By reaching the final, both Senegal and Mauritania have secured qualification for the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, which is set to take place in Seychelles next year.
