DGST Arrests Two Individuals Involved in Drug and “Karkoubi” Trafficking in Salé

Based on precise information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, the judicial police in the city of Salé managed to arrest two individuals suspected of possessing and distributing drugs and psychotropic substances yesterday.

The suspects were apprehended during a security operation carried out near a security checkpoint. They were found in possession of 2,400 narcotic pills, and a car, mobile phones, and a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from this criminal activity were seized.

The suspects were coming from a northern city, and a check of the National Security database revealed that one of them is a professional small taxi driver in the city of Salé.

The suspects have been subjected to a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the potential other extensions of this criminal activity, as well as to arrest other contributors and participants involved in committing these criminal acts.
