Expected Weather Changes in Morocco Over the Next 24 Hours: Rain and Lower Temperatures
Morocco is preparing for unstable weather conditions in the coming hours as a cold air mass from the Arctic approaches the country. This system is accompanied by a low-pressure area over the Portuguese Atlantic coast, which is likely to bring heavy rain and a noticeable drop in temperatures, particularly in the northern and central regions of the country.
Significant rainfall is expected in the northwest, starting from Saturday evening, with precipitation potentially exceeding 35mm in some areas. The rain is anticipated to extend to central regions on Sunday, with light showers possible in other areas.
Mountainous and high-altitude areas will experience a significant drop in temperature, with some regions potentially reaching freezing temperatures at night.
Strong to severe winds are also forecast for some areas, potentially causing disruptions to marine navigation.
From Saturday evening at around 8:00 PM, the far northwest regions, including Kenitra, M’diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Tangier-Asilah, Larache, Chefchaouen, and Fahs-Anjra, are expected to receive rainfall ranging between 15 and 35mm. Rainfall in Ouezzane is expected to be lighter.
The General Directorate of Meteorology urges caution and preparedness, especially given the anticipated unstable conditions, to avoid any potential risks.
