“Forsatin” Forum Confirms Polisario’s Responsibility in the Elimination of Mauritanian Tribes and Urgently Calls for Its Dissolution
The Forsatin Forum, opposing the separatist Polisario Front, has revealed a series of gross human rights violations committed by the Polisario militias, describing them as rare transgressions globally, with impacts still visible today, as the perpetrators have not been held accountable nor have their victims been compensated.
The forum confirmed that many Sahrawis and Mauritanians continue to testify to these crimes, noting that these brutal acts were not confined to a specific period but have lasting effects that cannot be ignored.
The forum highlighted the role of Polisario leaders in executing ethnic cleansing operations against several tribes at the onset of the fictitious front’s establishment. At that time, a public document accused individuals from what was known as the “Tekna Network” of spying for Spanish and Moroccan intelligence, leading to a wave of atrocities including the arbitrary killing of innocents for no justifiable reason other than to carry out racist schemes aimed at exclusion and ethnic cleansing.
The forum pointed out that the Polisario leadership skillfully escaped accountability by manipulating laws and evading responsibility. What exacerbates the horror is that many individuals involved in these crimes still hold leadership positions within the front, and some are still alive, perpetuating these violations in the absence of accountability.
Over time, Polisario’s crimes expanded to include financial crimes and corruption in various forms, ranging from embezzlement and theft to extortion, oppression, and power monopoly. Meanwhile, the leadership enjoys all the perks, building luxurious villas, acquiring the latest cars, and traveling the world for leisure, while their children receive education at the finest global schools. In stark contrast, the Sahrawis suffer from ongoing poverty, marginalization, and injustice, with blatant disregard for their rights and needs.
In conclusion, the “Forsatin” Forum called for ending this unsustainable situation, asserting that the time has come to “burn the farm” and “break the fence of the Algerian regime,” which provides protection to the Polisario Front. It also emphasized the necessity of completely dismantling the fictitious front and rescuing the Sahrawis from this longstanding injustice.
This statement highlights the tragic reality in the Tindouf camps, where Sahrawis continue to suffer under oppression and poverty, while the Polisario leadership enjoys the luxury of life. While the forum calls for justice and an end to Polisario’s dominance, the question remains regarding the international community’s efforts in finding effective mechanisms to hold the perpetrators of these crimes accountable.
