Hammouchi Condoles the Family of the “Martyr of Duty”… Affirming the Security Institution’s Commitment to Supporting Martyrs’ Families

In a humanitarian initiative embodying the spirit of solidarity and loyalty to the sacrifices of security personnel, the Director General of National Security, Abdel Latif Hammouchi, last Friday visited the home of the family of the police officer “Martyr of Duty” in the suburbs of Abi Jad. The visit aimed to offer condolences and comfort the family in their profound loss. The visit took place in a simple atmosphere, free from any official protocol or strict security measures, to preserve the family’s feelings and respect the sanctity of the deceased.

During the visit, Hammouchi met with the parents of the late police officer, expressing his sincere condolences and deep sorrow over the incident. He emphasized that the sacrifice of the deceased will remain present in the memory of the security institution and will be recorded in the annals of the nation with utmost honor. He also affirmed the General Directorate of National Security’s commitment to continue supporting the families of fallen duty martyrs by providing various forms of assistance and support, as part of the solidarity approach that the Directorate adopts towards its members and their families.

The General Directorate of National Security had organized, last Tuesday, an official and solemn funeral for the late police officer Abdelghani Radhwan, who died during a security intervention targeting a suspect wanted for justice in cases related to the illicit trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances. During the operation, the suspect refused to comply and exhibited violent resistance using a bladed weapon, prompting a police officer to draw his service weapon to neutralize the threat. However, a stray bullet was fired, hitting the deceased in the chest and leading to his death despite attempts to save him.

Hammouchi’s visit to the martyr’s family received high praise from family members and local residents, who considered it a humane gesture reflecting the strong bond and solidarity between security officials and the Moroccan community. It highlights the security institution’s dedication to honoring the sacrifices of its personnel. The attendees also believed that this visit enhances trust in the spirit of solidarity and mutual support within the General Directorate of National Security.
