Israel’s Intelligence Chief Warns of “Settler Terrorism” Against Palestinians

The head of Israel’s internal security service (Shin Bet), Ronen Bar, warned of the consequences of what he termed “Jewish terrorism” perpetrated by settlers in the occupied West Bank.

Bar explained to Netanyahu, as reported by Channel 12 Israel, that “crimes motivated by nationalism by Jews are on the rise,” noting that “the damage inflicted on Israel as a result is incalculable, and in the future, the relevant authorities will lose control of the situation in the West Bank.”

He emphasized that “the phenomenon of Jewish terrorism is expanding due to a lack of fear of punishment and the support received by the perpetrators from government officials and Knesset members,” simultaneously stressing that the assaults taking place in the West Bank harm the occupation army and its operations.

In the same context, the Israeli official condemned “the incursion of 2,958 settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the anniversary of the so-called destruction of the Temple,” led by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, and highlighted that “what is happening will lead to a lot of bloodshed and will change the face of Israel in an unrecognizable way,” according to his statement.

According to the same sources, he pointed out that “what is happening creates a very significant threat to the security of the region.”
