Jamal Sellami Leads Jordan’s National Team to First Victory in the Final Round of World Cup Qualifiers
Under the leadership of Moroccan coach Jamal Sellami, the Jordanian national team achieved an important victory against its Palestinian counterpart with a score of three goals to one, as part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The match was held at the Kuala Lumpur Stadium in the Malaysian capital, under the management of Saudi referee Majed Al-Shamrani.
The game saw a strong start from the Nashama (Jordanian team), with Yazan Al-Naimat scoring the opening goal after a brilliant solo effort in the fifth minute. Despite the efforts from the Palestinian team, they had to wait until the 41st minute to equalize through a powerful header from Wissam Abu Ali, ending the first half with a 1-1 draw.
In the second half, Al-Naimat returned to add Jordan’s second goal in the 50th minute, giving his team the advantage once again. Nour Al-Din Al-Rawabdeh then extended the Nashama’s lead with a third goal in the 72nd minute, confirming the superiority of Jamal Sellami’s boys.
This win is the first for the former Fath Union Sport coach with the Jordanian national team, after his previous match ended in a draw against Kuwait.
