Morocco Officially Enters the “Military Manufacturing” Realm with Opening of Tata’s Factory
A year after signing a partnership agreement, the Indian giant Tata Advanced Systems has announced the opening of a new factory in Morocco dedicated to the production of military vehicles. This factory will cater to the needs of the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces, in addition to providing advanced military vehicles and equipment to the armed forces of other African countries.
According to media reports, the new factory will manufacture and assemble a variety of combat vehicles and military equipment, aligning with the Kingdom’s desire to develop its national military industries and enhance its defense capabilities.
This strategic partnership between Morocco and India is seen as a significant step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation in the military sector and will contribute to the transfer of technology and knowledge in this vital field. The project is also expected to create new job opportunities and stimulate economic growth in Morocco.
It is noteworthy that Tata had previously supplied the Moroccan army with around 90 military vehicles (military trucks) specialized in transporting ammunition, supplies, and personnel.
