Mounib Warns of Israeli Infiltration into Religious Affairs through the Training of Non-Muslim Imams in Tel Aviv under False Names
Nabila Mounib, a representative of the United Socialist Party, issued strong warnings regarding what she described as Israeli attempts to infiltrate Islamic religious affairs. During a parliamentary intervention, Mounib revealed programs for training imams and scholars who are not Muslims at the largest Islamic studies university in Tel Aviv, where they are being prepared to issue fatwas on Islamic matters under false names like “Samir the Tunisian” and “Mourad the Moroccan.”
In her speech, Mounib urged the Minister of Education to strengthen scientific research at Al-Qarawiyyin University in Morocco and expand its program to graduate an elite group proficient in foreign languages, especially English. She argued that producing 20,000 students fluent in English to promote the Islamic faith should be a priority, as opposed to the current number, which does not exceed 23 students.
She affirmed that Islam needs this elite group capable of engaging with the world, noting that supporting the Palestinian cause and protecting Islamic holy sites are essential priorities in defending Islamic identity.
