To implement the action plan launched last weekend aimed at combating various crimes affecting public safety in the streets, addressing reckless and dangerous behavior, as well as traffic violations that threaten the safety of road users and citizens, the security authorities in Marrakech have continued their campaign for the sixth consecutive day.

According to an official statement, various districts under the jurisdiction of the Marrakech Security Division managed to arrest 462 individuals on the night of August 29-30. These individuals were caught in the act or were wanted for various criminal offenses, including crimes against public morality, with 104 of them being subjects of national arrest warrants.

Moreover, as part of traffic safety measures targeting reckless and dangerous behavior, 54 vehicles were impounded at the municipal pound due to their drivers’ threat to road users by engaging in reckless and dangerous stunts.

Additionally, traffic police units recorded 630 traffic violations, including 290 for riding motorcycles without helmets. A total of 180 motorcycles and three-wheeled vehicles were also impounded for violating traffic laws and endangering people’s safety.

These integrated security operations involve various security districts under the jurisdiction of the Marrakech Security Division, reinforced by judicial police teams, police stations, public order units, and traffic police, along with various intervention forces and regulatory groups. It’s worth noting that during the first four days of these operations, 775 individuals were arrested for involvement in crime-fighting cases, and 170 vehicles were impounded for their involvement in reckless and dangerous behavior threatening the safety and security of road users.
