Turkish Authorities Reveal Suspected Perpetrators of Ankara Attack
Turkish authorities have identified the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) as the primary suspect in the armed attack that occurred on Wednesday in the capital, Ankara, which resulted in multiple casualties and injuries.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated, “The terrorist attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries is likely linked to the PKK, based on our assessment.”
According to the latest figures, six people were killed, including two of the assailants, and 22 others were injured in the attack that targeted the main facility of Turkish Aerospace Industries in Ankara on Wednesday afternoon.
Yerlikaya noted that “Turkish security forces neutralized two terrorists, a man and a woman.” Media reports indicated that a group of gunmen arrived at the entrance of the complex around 4 PM local time.
One of the attackers detonated a bomb, while others managed to enter the complex and opened fire on several individuals.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has announced the opening of an investigation into the attack.
