Upgrading Nador to Regional Security Status: A Strategic Step to Enhance Security and Improve Services
The General Directorate of National Security has announced a strategic decision to elevate the organizational structure of national security services in Nador from a provincial zone to regional security, effective August 16. This decision is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at keeping pace with population growth and urban expansion in the city, focusing on enhancing security coverage and improving citizens’ sense of safety.
In this context, a high-ranking official at the General Directorate of National Security stated that this development will include strengthening police services, establishing new security facilities, as well as increasing human resources and improving material resources and security vehicles.
In line with the new organizational structure, the Directorate announced a series of appointments to leadership positions, including promoting the former head of the provincial zone to the position of head of regional security in Nador. The appointments also covered various regional security services, including the regional judicial police service and the regional general intelligence service.
One of the key developments is the establishment of a specialized gang-fighting unit within the regional judicial police service, which will operate around the clock to address serious crimes and pursue wanted individuals.
The official source emphasized that this step comes in response to the increasing demand for security services, stressing the General Directorate of National Security’s commitment to providing all necessary resources to ensure citizen security and improve the quality of security services provided.
This initiative reflects the Kingdom of Morocco’s commitment to developing its security system and enhancing its capabilities to face contemporary security challenges, contributing to achieving stability and sustainable development in the region.
