A Healthier Energizing Drink Than Coffee!
Dr. Alexey Kabanov, a nutrition expert and deputy director of the National Research Center for “Healthy Nutrition,” announced that matcha tea has numerous beneficial properties.
He said, “Unlike coffee, matcha tea contains many essential vitamins and dietary fibers necessary for the digestive system’s function. This tea provides antioxidant protection and helps improve digestion.”
According to him, the benefit of matcha tea lies in its plant-based composition: protein, dietary fiber, minerals (iron and calcium), vitamins A and C, and chlorophyll (a natural detoxifier). All these components are beneficial and needed by the body when consumed regularly.
He added, “However, matcha tea balances benefits and harm. If consumed excessively, its harms will outweigh its benefits. Therefore, it is not recommended to start drinking concentrated matcha tea every day; it’s better to consume it 1-2 times a week.”
It’s noteworthy that the term “matcha” (Japanese) literally means “powdered tea.” It is a finely ground green tea, and one of the finest and most used types of Japanese tea. This tea is typically used in Japanese tea ceremonies alongside some sweets and is now also being added to various foods, such as soba noodles, green tea ice cream, and different types of desserts.
