A Major Cultural Project on the Ruins of “Qamra” Bus Station in Rabat

The Moroccan authorities have decided to expropriate the properties of the Qamra bus station in the capital, Rabat, in order to implement a major cultural project on this site.

The expropriation order was published in the official gazette, aiming to “establish public infrastructure in the Rabat municipality,” as part of the plan to build a modern cultural center on the old site of the Qamra bus station, as announced.

The issuance of this decision grants the Ministry of Culture the necessary authority to commence construction of this cultural center, which will include a large public library. Alongside this center, other cultural projects will be implemented to enhance cultural activities, to the delight of the youth and students in the capital of the Kingdom.

These projects are part of the urban plan for the city of Rabat, which was recently presented and includes the creation of a large cultural space on the site of the Qamra bus station to meet the cultural and recreational needs of Rabat’s youth.
