Al Hilal Club, the Saudi League champions, announced the official signing of Portuguese right-back João Cancelo from Manchester City.
Al Hilal stated on its official “X” platform account: “João Cancelo rises from the peaks of the planet… to Al Hilal.”
Fahd Bin Nafel, the chairman of Al Hilal’s nonprofit company, arrived in Paris on Tuesday morning to secure Cancelo’s signature. The deal between Al Hilal and City’s management was agreed upon, with only Cancelo’s official signing remaining.
The transfer of the 30-year-old Cancelo to Al Hilal follows the official departure of Saud Abdulhamid to Roma on Tuesday.
Cancelo’s contract with Al Hilal is set to last for three years, until 2027.
