Arrest Awaits Those Attempting to Migrate to Ceuta

In an unprecedented decision by the judicial authorities in Tetouan, it has been decided to prosecute all those attempting illegal migration by swimming to the shores of Ceuta, who are returned by the Spanish authorities under immediate return protocols.

This decision is based on the fact that these individuals endanger their own lives and the lives of others, enter prohibited security zones, create disorder and gatherings, and encourage minors to throw themselves into the sea without considering the risks of such reckless adventures.

Among them are individuals who were fleeing justice or caught in possession of prohibited items punishable by law.

Informed sources reported that on the night of Friday, with dense fog descending after the Maghrib prayer, a number of young people collectively attempted to swim to the shores of Ceuta. However, the vigilance and professionalism of the Moroccan public forces, in addition to close cooperation with their Spanish counterparts, managed to stop them all.

The total number of those detained reached over 590 candidates for illegal migration, including several minors from various Moroccan cities, as well as individuals of different nationalities such as Algerian, Tunisian, and Syrian.
