Barcelona Opens New Football School in Casablanca

FC Barcelona is set to expand its international training network in Morocco by opening a new football school, “Barça Academy,” in Casablanca.

According to a statement from the Spanish club today, Monday, “Following the success of Barça Academy in Rabat, the club is strengthening a project deemed strategic for expanding football in Morocco by opening a second Barcelona Academy in the country.” The “Barça Academy” project in Casablanca is expected to launch in September, welcoming around 500 boys and girls who will be taught the principles of the game and the club’s values, according to the statement.

The new academy will be the 28th of its kind worldwide, complementing the “Barça Academy” project across 48 countries on five continents, including training camps and clinics.

Barcelona’s academies aim to provide “comprehensive training” while enhancing the club’s brand image. The Catalan club noted that “football and sports, in general, are tools for social cohesion, and Barcelona is a driving force worldwide for all the values it brings to society.”
