Escalation in Gaza: Resistance Targets Israeli Forces Amid Intense Airstrikes

The intensity of confrontations in the Gaza Strip escalated on Wednesday as Palestinian resistance announced successful operations against Israeli forces advancing in southern Gaza City. In response, Israel conducted intense airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of dozens of Palestinians.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed to have sniped two Israeli soldiers in the Zaytoun neighborhood. Meanwhile, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Jihad Movement, announced the destruction of two Israeli military vehicles in the Zaytoun and Tal Al-Hawa areas. Israeli media confirmed injuries among its army as a result of these clashes.

The Israeli army announced the death of a First Sergeant during battles in southern Gaza. Official statistics indicated that the number of Israeli army deaths has risen to 339 soldiers, with 2,259 others injured since the start of the ground operation in the strip.

Israeli military operations continued with a new incursion in the Qizan Al-Najjar area south of Khan Younis, alongside ongoing clashes in various areas including Khan Younis, Rafah, Deir Al-Balah, and some neighborhoods of Gaza City.

Since early morning, Gaza has witnessed a new wave of intense Israeli airstrikes. Medical sources reported the martyrdom of around 34 Palestinians. The strikes focused on various areas, including the vicinity of a school for displaced persons in Deir Al-Balah, homes in Khan Younis, and the Jabalia camp. Journalist Mohammed Abdul Rabbu was also killed in a strike on the Nuseirat camp.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health statistics, the number of martyrs in the past 24 hours reached 58, with 131 injured. The total number of casualties since the beginning of the war on October 7 has risen to 40,534 martyrs and 93,778 wounded.

The humanitarian situation in the strip continues to deteriorate amid ongoing confrontations and bombings, with increasing international calls for a ceasefire.
