The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced today, Wednesday, that Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 World Cup. This makes the Kingdom the first Arab country to host the tournament independently under the new format, featuring 48 national teams.
FIFA revealed that Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 World Cup received a score of 419.8 out of 500, the highest technical rating ever granted by the organization to a World Cup hosting proposal. This milestone reflects Saudi Arabia’s leadership and the remarkable and exceptional transformation the Kingdom is experiencing in various fields, including sports, in line with the goals and vision of Saudi Vision 2030.
Saudi Arabia officially submitted its bid to host this edition of the World Cup last July, under the slogan “Together We Grow.” The proposal outlined ambitious plans to host this prestigious football tournament, with matches held in 15 stadiums across five host cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and Neom, as well as ten additional hosting locations throughout the Kingdom.
By hosting the 2034 World Cup, Saudi Arabia aims to provide exceptional experiences for players and fans from around the globe. The Kingdom promises world-class facilities and accommodation options that cater to diverse visitor needs, emphasizing the sustainability of its projects and environmental preservation. Furthermore, it boasts an advanced transportation network enabling fans to easily reach stadiums, along with streamlined travel procedures to ensure a comfortable and outstanding experience for all visitors.
