French Channel RMC Dismisses Algerian Mehdi Ghazaar and Ends His Participation After Insults Against Morocco and Moroccans
French channel RMC announced through the presenters of their program “Les Grandes Gueules” on the morning of Wednesday, August 28, the termination of Algerian Mehdi Ghazaar’s involvement in their programs following his offensive remarks about Morocco and Moroccans.
An official announcement from the program “Les Grandes Gueules” on RMC stated that “following the unacceptable statements made by Mehdi Ghazaar on a foreign channel, RMC management and the ‘Les Grandes Gueules’ program have decided to end Mehdi Ghazaar’s participation in the show.”
The program presenters emphasized that both the program and the channel denounce Mehdi Ghazaar’s statements, which he made personally and which do not reflect the values of the channel or the program.
The decision to dismiss Mehdi Ghazaar came after he appeared as a guest on “Algeria International,” a channel affiliated with the military regime. During the appearance, he unleashed a torrent of insults and slurs against Morocco and Moroccans with extremely offensive descriptions, and spread lies and vile racist statements.
Ghazaar also falsely claimed that demonstrations in solidarity with Palestine were banned in Morocco, alleging the issuance of a specific decision prohibiting protests. This is entirely false, as Moroccan cities witness weekly demonstrations that are among the largest in the Middle East and North Africa.
His ferocious attack also targeted the royal advisor André Azoulay, whom he subjected to heinous hate speech simply because of his Jewish faith.
Mehdi Ghazaar is considered one of the mouthpieces of the Algerian regime in the French media. He is known as an activist in the Algerian lobby in France and specializes in spreading hate speech against Morocco and Moroccans. Through his media and political activities, Ghazaar appears as one of the arms defending Algeria’s interests in France, albeit with a biased and hostile approach, relying on lies and slander.
