Government Council Discusses Draft Decrees and International Agreements, Concludes with Appointments and Legislative Proposals

Next Thursday, the Government Council chaired by Aziz Akhannouch, the Prime Minister, will convene, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office. At the outset of its agenda, the council will examine four draft decrees. The first relates to determining the list of exceptional licenses available to judges and the list of diseases that entitle them to medium and long-term sick leaves. The second draft decree aims to amend the previous decree regarding the conditions for granting compensation to employees tasked with supervising and activating continuous training courses and completing experience for cadres under the Ministry of National Education.

The third draft decree addresses setting the legal minimum wage amounts for agricultural and non-agricultural activities, while the fourth draft decree pertains to modifying and supplementing the decree related to the implementation of the value-added tax stipulated in Section Three of the General Tax Code.

Following this, the council will move on to study an agreement signed between Morocco and the Republic of Chad regarding the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion in the field of income taxes, signed in Dakhla on August 14, 2024. It will also discuss the social security agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the Republic of Korea, signed in Seoul on June 2, 2024, along with two legislative projects approving these agreements.

The council’s agenda will conclude with the study of proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution, followed by a special meeting dedicated to examining some legislative proposals.
