A British court has revealed new and shocking details regarding the death of 10-year-old Sara Sharif, who suffered repeated abuse within her family home before being killed in August 2023.
Medical evidence indicates that Sara’s body showed approximately 25 fractures in various areas, specifically in the bones, some of which dated back several months, suggesting a long-term pattern of violence. Her hyoid bone in her neck was also broken, hinting at possible manual strangulation.
After her death, her father, Irfan Sharif (42 years old), his wife, Beinash Batool (30 years old), and his brother, Faisal Malik (29 years old), left the United Kingdom for Pakistan. They booked their tickets immediately, taking their four other children and leaving Sara’s body on a bed.
In another shocking detail, traces of the child’s blood were found on household items such as a baseball bat and a rolling pin. Additionally, her father’s and uncle’s DNA was discovered on a belt, while traces of Sara’s blood and hair were found on plastic coverings placed over her head.
Reports indicate that Sara’s school had noticed signs of facial bruising in March 2023. However, when asked about the injuries, she did not answer and attempted to hide her face, while her stepmother provided unconvincing explanations for the marks.
Neighbors also reported hearing repeated screams from the family’s apartment and the continuous sounds of beatings. They confirmed that the child’s stepmother frequently yelled at and mistreated her.
In court, the defendants sat with their heads bowed as they watched footage of their arrest on the plane after being extradited from Pakistan in September 2023, maintaining their innocence of the charges against them.
