Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has officially announced the extension of Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi’s contract for an additional three years, keeping him at the Parisian club until 2029.
According to the French newspaper “L’Équipe”, the agreement was finalized following intense negotiations between the club and the player, showcasing a mutual desire to continue their partnership.
Since joining PSG in August 2021, Hakimi has become a cornerstone of the team. Under the guidance of Spanish coach Luis Enrique, who took charge in July 2023, Hakimi has shown significant development, evolving into a versatile player capable of excelling both defensively and offensively, beyond his traditional advanced full-back role.
The renewal of Hakimi’s contract underscores PSG’s commitment to its new project, which emphasizes teamwork and collective performance over individual stardom.
This season, Hakimi has participated in 13 matches across all competitions, contributing decisively with two goals and three assists.
With this extension, PSG effectively ends Real Madrid’s hopes of acquiring the Moroccan star, securing the services of one of the team’s key pillars for the foreseeable future.
