Russia Denies Allegations of Interference in U.S. Elections
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that the United States is once again accusing Russia and other countries of interfering in its elections.
Russia strongly denied the U.S. intelligence agencies’ allegations of alleged interference in the presidential elections and the spread of misinformation.
During her participation in the 21st annual meeting of the Valdai International Club, Zakharova stated, “The whole world is watching the electoral processes in the United States with concern, and they continue to claim that there is interference in their elections.”
She added, “U.S. intelligence agencies have accused Russia and other countries of spreading lies about the American elections within American society.”
Zakharova pointed out, “If we listen to the U.S. presidential candidates accusing each other of lying, there would be no need for other countries to play a role here.”
The U.S. election is taking place today, Tuesday, with incumbent President Joe Biden representing the Democratic Party and former President Donald Trump representing the Republican Party. A close race is expected, with the outcome likely to be decided in swing states.
