Unimaginable… A Syrian Expert Enumerates the Ways the Algerian Military Regime Supported the Dethroned President Bashar Assad

The head of the International Observatory for Documenting and Prosecuting Iran’s Crimes, and former Algerian officer, Anwar Malik, revealed a controversial message he received from a Syrian expert. This message included shocking testimonies that shed light on the extent of support the Algerian military regime provided to Bashar Assad’s regime since the outbreak of the Syrian revolution. This support raises questions about Algeria’s responsibility for the tragedies faced by the Syrian people.

In his message, the Syrian expert posed distressing questions about whether anyone could imagine or accept the magnitude of support the Algerian military regime provided to the “dictatorial” Syrian regime. This support was not limited to the political or diplomatic sphere but also extended to military and logistical dimensions that directly deepened the suffering of the Syrian people.

According to the message, Algeria supplied Syrian regime aircraft with fuel for an entire decade following the imposition of European sanctions. This enabled the regime to continue its devastating air campaigns targeting cities such as Homs, Aleppo, Daraa, Idlib, and Deir ez-Zor. The support did not stop there; Algeria provided ammunition and military equipment, including rocket launcher shells, tanks, and artillery, documented in the records of the Syrian Ministry of Defense and the Syrian Military Intelligence Service, contributing to the genocide against civilians.

The message revealed the role of Algerian security officers in training their Syrian counterparts on how to suppress demonstrations and handle popular movements. Additionally, it included transferring the Algerian regime’s expertise in discrediting popular uprisings and branding them as terrorism. The message also detailed the handing over of individuals wanted by the Syrian regime, as well as the dispatching of fighters from the Polisario Front to train with Syrian regime militias.

Equally shocking is that Algeria expelled Syrians who sought refuge there to escape the horrors of war in their homeland, a stance that contradicts the humanitarian values and the declared positions of some Arab countries regarding support for refugees.

These revelations deal a severe blow to the credibility of the Algerian regime, which has long championed support for Arab causes and human rights. They also open the door to questions about the true motivations behind this support and whether it is linked to political or strategic interests that go beyond mere solidarity with Assad’s regime.
