Wydad Announces Brazilian Striker’s ACL Tear

Wydad Athletic Club announced today, Thursday, that their Brazilian striker, Renan Viana, has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.

The Red team’s medical update stated: “Following thorough examinations supervised by the club’s medical committee, it was found that player Renan suffers from an ACL tear.” The statement added that “this injury will keep the Brazilian player out of competition for at least 8 months.”

Renan Viana sustained the injury during Wydad’s match against Chabab Salmi in the third round of the Excellence Cup, which took place last Tuesday and ended with Salmi’s team winning 1-0.
