Wydad Casablanca Coach Mokwena: “Victory over Chabab Al-Massira Will Provide Confidence to Our Players and Fans, and More Work Awaits Us”
Rhulani Mokwena, the coach of Wydad Athletic Club, affirmed that his team’s victory over Chabab Al-Massira (2-0), in the first round of the Excellence Cup, would give the red squad confidence for the upcoming matches. Mokwena stated in the press conference following the match: “Congratulations to the Chabab Al-Massira players; they played a good match today.”
He continued: “We are still far from our level and did not show our full potential. We can deliver better performances. This match will give confidence to the players as well as to our fans.”
“Wydad supporters are among the best I’ve seen. When you see them singing and supporting the team, they deserve to be happy, and we will try to make that happen,” added the South African coach.
He continued: “We have more work ahead of us, but I am happy with the players’ performance. I know everyone’s names because I’ve watched each player’s matches individually. It’s part of my job to analyze and know information about the players, how they play, and their statistics before signing them.”
He concluded: “There is no issue with Pedrinho since he hasn’t played yet; it’s just a transitional matter that will be resolved soon.”
