Bensaid Highlights in Saudi Arabia the Role of His Majesty the King in Supporting the Palestinian Cause and People

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, highlighted the unwavering support of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the Palestinian cause and people during a speech on Wednesday evening at the 13th session of the Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World in Jeddah.
Morocco’s Commitment to Preserving Jerusalem’s Cultural Identity
Representing the Kingdom of Morocco, Bensaid emphasized the pivotal role of Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He underscored the agency’s ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at preserving the cultural and historical identity of Jerusalem and supporting its residents. These efforts include:
- Safeguarding historical heritage
- Upgrading cultural infrastructure
- Supporting creative industries
Such initiatives, Bensaid noted, reflect Morocco’s steadfast commitment, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, to defending Al-Quds and reinforcing the resilience of its people.
Morocco’s Leading Role in Cultural Heritage Preservation
The minister also highlighted efforts to protect and promote cultural heritage across the Islamic world. He pointed out achievements made within the Islamic World Heritage Committee, which has successfully registered 117 cultural elements—both tangible and intangible—on ICESCO’s heritage list, including several Moroccan cultural assets. This, he stressed, reinforces Morocco’s leadership in preserving and valuing cultural heritage.
